Britain is bracing for another bout of Arctic weather over the next few days with temperatures plunging to their lowest since Christmas.
Fierce winds will roar in from Lapland and the North Pole from Saturday, making sub-zero temperatures appear even colder, hitting minus five degrees Celsius in the North.
Forecasters say Britons should not put away their winter woollies yet because the freak cold spell could last into May, the Daily Express reported.
Jim Dale, meteorologist at British Weather Services, said: "Looking forward, there is more to come and we are not likely to get out of this colder period any time soon."
