The man who shot dead Indian student Anuj Bidve in a "motiveless" murder in Greater Manchester has been jailed for life, the BBC reported Friday.

A killer who called himself "Psycho" has been found guilty of murdering Indian student Anuj Bidve at random on a British street, The Independent reported Thursday.

Kiaran Stapleton walked up to stranger Anuj Bidve, 23, in the street in Salford, Greater Manchester, and shot him in the head at point blank range Dec 26 last year.

Stapleton, 21 had admitted manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility but a jury at Manchester Crown Court rejected that argument and convicted him of murder.

British-Indian model sues school for racism

A 35-year-old Indian-origin model-turned language teacher, who was once named one of Britain's top 20 hottest men, has sued his former school after the Indian national flag was allegedly removed from his classroom and dirtied, and he was called a "Paki n*****" and "chicken curry".

According to the Daily Mail, Haresh Sood claimed racist notes and pictures were left for him shortly before he was axed from his post at Nottingham's Christ the King School.

He allegedly suffered the racist abuse from children in May 2008 and says the school failed to deal with it.

Britain returns stolen artefacts to Afghanistan

Historical artefacts dating back to the Bronze Age (3500 to 1200 BC) that were stolen from Afghanistan and smuggled to Britain have been returned by the British armed forces, it was announced Thursday.

Some of the items were looted from Afghanistan's museums during civil wars in the country over the past two decades while others came from illegal excavations of archaeological sites.

The precious cargo, weighing more than two tonnes and containing 843 individual objects, left Royal Air Force Station Brize Norton in Oxfordshire last week on board a transport plane, and was then transferred from the British military base Camp Bastion in Helmand province to Kabul, The Independent reported.
