With a view to promoting tourism in West Bengal, the government will launch theme-based advertisement campaigns involving creative minds.

"Tourism is on the rise. We want to aggressively market West Bengal," Tourism Principal Secretary Raghvendra Singh said Friday night.

"We will soon launch theme-based promotional campaigns designed by creative minds from around the state and the country," he added.

Singh, who inaugurated the Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India West Bengal and North East Chapter, said photographers, script writers and artists will design the promotional campaign.

The government is also harping upon developing tourism infrastructure in the state.

"Without proper infrastructure, the promotional campaign is meaningless. We are focussing on developing standard tourism infrastructure. Log huts and cabin are being constructed in picturesque locales, trekking routes, golf courses, river cruises all are being developed," added Singh.
